i know i'm late to the party, but it's my (and ed's separately) intention to start a photoblog for the next year.
nursing school has taken over so much of my brain that i really need some creative stimulus to remind me that hey, i'm still a thinking, breathing individual capable of creating something, even if its only appeal is to me.
i'm trying to change my approach to things, so that will include a lot more of my trying to open up more via opening the parameters of my life wider to let people in more.
and the (short) story of this photo: we arrived to jacksonville beach this morning at 6:00am to watch the first sunrise of the new year. there were near-hurricane force winds coming off the ocean and the temperature was around 41, leaving a nasty windchill for my thin florida skin. we enjoyed the sunrise, took lots of pictures and tried not to freeze. around 8:30, we walked down to where they were doing the polar bear plunge 2009, so that ed could get ready to jump in the ocean. he and 400 other insane jacksonvilleans jumped screaming and splashing into the freezing water. i will say this: there was a very neat vibe there. enough for me to consider maybe maybe maybe doing it next year.
